LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE

It's fun to share a good laugh, but did you know that it can actually improve your health? Let's harness the powerful benefits of laughter and humor from this World Laughter Day !! Happy World Laughter Day !!

It's true - laughter is a strong medicine. It draws people together in ways that trigger healthy physical and emotional changes in the body. Laughter strengthens your immune system, boosts mood, diminishes pain, and protects you from the damaging effects of stress. Nothing works faster or more dependably to bring your mind and body back into balance than a good laugh. Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hope, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded, focused and alert, it also helps you release anger and forgive sooner.

1. Laughter relaxes the whole body. A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for upto 45 minutes.

2. Laughter boosts the immune system. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection - fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to diseases.

3. Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body's natural feel - good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well - being and can even temporarily relieve pain.

4. Laughter burns calories. Ok, so it's no replacement for going to the gym, which is not possible in this time period. Instead, why not laugh for 10 to 15 mins a day and burn approximately 40 calories - which could enough to lose 3 or 4 pounds in a year !

5. Laughter protects the heart. Laughter improves the functioning of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems.

6. Laughter lightens angry's heavy load. Nothing diffuses angry and conflict faster than a shared laugh. Looking at the funny side can put problems into perspective and enable you to move on without holding on to bitterness or resentment.

7. Laughter may even help you to live longer. It may particularly help those battling cancer.

In this lockdown period, it is not easy for us to stay happy all the time at home.. But let's just try to keep ourselves healthy by atleast laughing, which has so many health benefits. It's natural for us to feel moody at these times, but I would strongly suggest each one of us to take this as a challenge and live our life happily and safely at home.. Let's radiate positivity to eradicate the negativity we are suffering from !!

Stay home, stay safe, keep laughing !!
