Have you ever thought of a study drug?

Well, there is something called Adderall. It is the brand name for a mixture of amphetamine salts that was developed for treatment of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Many use Adderall even without the doctor prescribing it. Since it is closely related to amphetamine salts, therefore it is a close relative of methamphetamine also, commonly known as meth!  When Adderall is ingested,it takes effect on the brain within an hour. Adderall affects neuroreceptors in the central nervous system, increasing the levels of dopamine and serotonin. In patients suffering from ADHD,genetic studies have indicated that these individuals may have dysfunctional dopamine release. Because of lack of dopamine, the brain will constantly seek out stimulants, resulting in getting distracted often, commonly seen in ADHD patients. The Adderall releases the dopamine and serotonin that overcomes this deficit in ADHD patients, causing increased focus and making them feel less distracted. Adderall also causes th

Wondering about Alpha - 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency?

Image
Alpha - 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency is basically a rare hereditary condition which often leads to a decrease in the circulating AAT levels, which leads to an increase in the risk of a liver disease in adults and even children, but some aspects have still remained unresolved. The main problem is that AATD is underdiagnosed. The symptoms of AATD deficiency can range from a small scale to a large scale such as: 1. Weight loss 2. Tiredness 3. Wheezing and shortness of breath 4. Rapid heartbeat upon standing 5. Vision problems 6. Repeated lung infections Some people do not have any symptoms. Genetic tests and blood tests can tell if you have it. If you experience repeated lung infections, you must probably take lung tests too. Extra oxygen and medicines can be used for treating this. Sometimes, the severe causes may even cause a lung transplant. And smoking and drinking alcohol must come to an end if you do not want such things in your body.

Is there only one disease? Is it a misconception that there are many diseases?

There is only one human disease, and there are not thousands of different diseases. Now, its obvious that many of you will come up with HIV and influenza as two different diseases, but the truth is HIV virus has never been seen till present. It's just an assumption of virus or a hypothesis. Most diseases are tested using a symptom based formula for determining which disease you have. Viral loading is used for HIV. This viral loading is determined in a simple way. Well, first,a blood sample is taken and put in a blender, and at last, the result is filtered. Then the particles of a certain size are said to be 'viruses'. Just because a particle of matter is of a certain size,it doesn't make it a virus. It is well known that if we avoid some chocolates or anything else,we will never get a 'cold','flu' or 'influenza virus.' Well that's because there are no viruses. The bacteria in the gut can leak into the blood stream by a problem called leaky gut

Why do apple slices turn brown?

Image
Well, when an apple is cut,one of it's plant tissue becomes injured. When oxygen is present in cells, the polyphenol oxidase enzymes in the chloroplasts oxidise phenolic compounds rapidly which are naturally present in the apple tissues to brown coloured secondary products. It is then reacted to form compounds with amino acids or proteins,or sometimes they self assemble to make polymers, giving the brown colour. Sometimes,we wonder - why some apples become brown faster than the others? Well,it is because different apple varieties contain different levels of polyphenols, and therefore some brown faster than the others. It is the same case for pears and bananas too. And another interesting fact is that this enzymatic browning is also responsible for the dark colour of coffee, black tea,and cocoa.  If you want to reduce the browning of your apple slices, you can probably try the following: 1. Keep the slices refrigerated to slow down the reaction. 2. Coating them with lemon juice can p
